Please join us for this free event. Plowshare will hold its sixth annual Teen Peace Jam!
Date: Saturday, April 27, 2019
Time: 9 AM to 4 PM
Location: Roanoke Unitarian Universalist Church, 2015 Grandin Rd.
It is a free event with free food.
Sign up when you arrive for 2 different hour workshops on: Peace, social or environmental justice, or personal empowerment.
Meet other teens who want to learn and work for peace. Musicians and artists present during lunch and afternoon session.
Teen Peace Jam schedule:
10 AM-Welcome & Schedule of Day
10:15 AM-Keynote speech from Joan Wages on activism
11 AM-Four different workshops
11: 50 AM-Break
12:15 PM-Lunch with pizza, sandwiches, juice, water, gluten-free & lactose-free items
1:30 PM-Four different workshops
2:30 PM-Workshop Reports
2:45 PM-Open Time-Hanging out, crafts, music, on-going art project, etc.
4 PM-Clean-up & Good-byes
Plowshare’s goal is to educate young people about peace and justice issues.
It is also to draw them from their many different communities (cities, schools, religious groups) and backgrounds (ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations) and to give them a chance to meet. And it is meant for them to have fun, too!
